Sign up for garden waste collection
We offer a garden waste collection service, where you can have your cut grass, plant and hedge trimmings collected.
You must sign up and pay for this service.
Before you start
Information about your garden waste collection service.
- garden waste is collected every 2 weeks, on the same day as your refuse and recycling collections
- as a subscriber, you will have been provided with a green wheelie bin, or 3 reusable garden waste sacks, or biodegradable sacks
- you simply place your garden waste at the front edge of your property by 7am, every 2 weeks
- your wheelie bin, bag or sack needs to placed at the front edge of your property by 7am on your collection day
- put your garden waste directly into your wheelie bin, reusable bags or biodegradable sacks. Do not use plastic bags or other containers
- label your reusable bags or wheelie bin with your property number
- if you move within the borough, you can transfer your garden waste collection service to your new property. You will need to let us know you have moved so we can update our records. Please take your containers with you
Costs
It costs £96.50 a year, running from 1 April to 31 March. Collections will pause from 1 December and resume on 1 March.
Prices may be different if you use biodegradable sacks.
Should you need extra containers, these are charged yearly at £73.80 per wheelie bin or 3 reusable sacks.
Discounted garden waste service
A discounted rate of £73.80 is available to residents aged 65 and over, or those who get means tested benefits.
To continue receiving this service you will need to sign up each year, as there is no automatic renewal.

When completing your form, you will need to tell us:
- how many bins you want
- your credit or debit card number to pay at the time of ordering.
What happens next
If you have signed up, asked for more containers, moved address, or asked for a container swap, then we will deliver your garden waste containers within 10 working days.
If you already have containers, and do not need a delivery, you will be able to tell us during the sign-up process. Collections will start at the earliest scheduled date after delivery.
When you cancel, you will get an email to confirm this.
We may contact you to ask for proof that you qualify for the discounted rate.
Please leave your garden waste bin or sacks at the front of the property.
