Correcting a planning breach
In some instances it will be possible to obtain planning permission retrospectively. However, submitting a planning application does not guarantee that you will be granted permission to keep the development. All applications are assessed on their individual merits. In such cases the development is subject to enforcement action.
Where a development is unacceptable and planning permission not likely to be granted, the council may serve an enforcement notice requiring you to take remedial action.
