Managing your tenancy – your safety

Your tenancy agreement sets out the terms which you must follow, please read your tenancy agreement to see the full version of these terms. They include the following:

  • You must allow us access to inspect your home to carry out safety checks
  • You must not use or store any flammable materials anywhere in or near your home (including in any store, shed or garage) apart from a safe quantity that you use for ordinary domestic purposes
  • You must not leave or store anything in any shared areas or otherwise obstruct their use by other people. This includes but is not limited to furniture, plant pots, scooters, prams and bicycles. We can remove these items without giving you notice
  • You must not use any barbecue or other cooking device on any balcony. If you want to use a barbecue or other cooking device in any communal area you need to get our permission first
  • You must not use or store butane gas canisters in your home
  • You must not interfere with fire-fighting equipment, fire alarms or other fire safety systems (such as automatic vents) and you must not leave or wedge fire doors open.
