Electric cars and charging points

Electric cars can help solve London’s air quality problems, which is a major public health issue. The government, through the Office for Low Emission Vehicles, provides grants for consumers and businesses looking to install charge points on their land or buy electric cars. Although it tends to cost more to buy electric cars, the running costs are much lower. Fuel costs are lower and there are discounts on road tax and parking permits.

To help local residents and businesses buy electric cars, we are working with the private operator Source London to expand the network of publicly available electric vehicles charge points. You do not need to pay for parking when using a Source London charge points in council run car parks. Visit the Source London website to become a member.
