Request a collection
If you have eight items or less, or a fridge or freezer, you can request a collection online or by telephone. This service is for residential properties only and we do not collect from commercial premises or red routes. If you are a commercial customer or live on a red route, you will need to make alternative arrangements with a licensed waste contractor.
Make sure you clearly state what you want collected on your booking form. The collection crew will only collect items that are listed. Several items in a box or plastic bag should be listed as one item. A bed base and mattress will be counted as two items. Broken furniture must be bundled and tied up securely and is also classed as one item. It must be of a size and weight that two people can carry.
We do not offer concessions for this service and once payment has been received it is non-refundable. You must read the terms and conditions before making a booking, by making a booking you agree to these. Also included is a full list of items which cannot be collected using this service.
You may no longer select a specific day for collection and this will instead be carried out within five working days of your payment being received, between the hours of 7am to 5pm, Mon-Fri.
Items must be available for collection from the front or side of properties and be both clearly visible and easily accessible as soon as you complete your booking, collection crews will not make contact before a collection. Collections cost £40 for up to eight items and £25 per fridge or freezer (which need to be listed on a separate booking form).
All items must be no more than five metres walking distance away from the public highway and at pavement level. Items which breach health and safety regulations will not be collected, for example asbestos, gas cylinders and any other hazardous waste.
More than eight items
We are sorry that quotes for more than eight items are not available at this time.
There is no limit or restrictions on the number of collections booked within a year. Collections of domestic fridges or freezers are booked separately and there is a maximum of three items in any one collection.
Many stores now offer 'take back schemes'. If you are buying a new large item, the company should offer to take away the old one.
Items which can be collected include:
- furniture (wooden, metal or plastic)
- glass or mirrors
