We do not collect from commercial premises or sites.
The charge for up to eight items and fridges or freezers is an administration fee which is non-refundable.
No discounts are available for this service.
Items must be easily to see and get to at all times, for both quotation and collection from the front of properties.
Collection staff will not enter the home or contact customers beforehand.
It is your responsibility to make sure items are presented correctly for collection. Collection staff will not collect items which, on inspection, break health and safety legislation.
A quote can be requested for collection of more than eight items. Quotes are valid for 21 days. If payment is not made within this time, you will need to get a new quote.
Quotes will be provided within five working days of a request being made. New quotes will be needed if items are added to the list for collection.
The collection of a domestic fridge or freezer needs to be booked separately to all other items. No more than three domestic fridges or freezers can be booked in one collection.
Any overgrowth or vegetation needs to be cleared for easy access. Please make sure vegetation is no more than 50cm high.
Items must be no more than five metres walking distance from the public road and be located at pavement level.
Each item for collection must be of a size, shape and weight that is easily carried by two people. Broken glass must be wrapped, boxed and clearly labelled.
A box containing several items is classed as one item. Please list this as one item in the items for collection.
Where an item has been broken into pieces, and it has not been securely bundled together, bagged or boxed, it will be classed as more than one item. Please list each item separately.
Once an appointment day has been booked, you must make sure that your items are placed out for collection by 7am on the scheduled appointment day.
It is your responsibility to make sure items are presented correctly.
Any items not on your booking form at the time of payment will not be collected and no refunds will be given.
We cannot be held responsible for items taken by a third party and we cannot give refunds.
The council will not collect any DIY or builders rubbish, bricks, concrete, iron baths, pianos, asbestos, earth, sand, gravel, tins of paint, oil, boilers or chemical storage tanks, gas cylinders, tyres, batteries or dead domestic pets. Engine oil (in a clearly labelled container) and batteries can be put on top of your recycling bins.
