If you find yourself on this webpage, it is more than likely because the collection crew left a white tag on your recycling bin. This white tag indicates that either:
- there is something in your bin that shouldn’t be
- your bin wasn’t accessible or presented correctly
If your bin has been tagged, please do not report this as a missed collection as the crew will not return to empty your bin. Instead, you will need to:
- remove the incorrect item(s)
- remove the white tag
- present your bin at the boundary of your property by 7am on your next scheduled recycling collection day
To make sure your recycling bin is emptied on your next scheduled recycling collection day, you will need to remove any incorrect item(s)
If the incorrect items are not removed, then you may experience another missed collection.
What can be included in the recycling bin
The only items that belong in this bin are those that can be recycled from your home:
- cardboard and thin card
- paper, envelopes and junk mail
- newspapers and magazines
- plastic bottles, pots and tubs
- metal tins and cans, aerosol cans and clean foil
- glass bottles and jars
- food and drink cartons
How can other recycling be disposed of
- textiles and batteries must be bagged and placed on top of your bin, never in the bin
- food waste should be disposed of in your green food waste bin which is collected weekly
- garden waste does not belong in either bin
- plastic bags, crisp packets, bread bags and other thin plastics can be recycled at some local supermarkets but not from your home
