Reuse and recycling centres and sites

Textile recycling

Every year an estimated 336,000 tonnes of used clothing goes to landfill in the UK. There is absolutely no need for any clothing or textiles to make its way into the rubbish bin.

Small item collections

Any unwanted clothing can be placed alongside your recycling bin on your scheduled collection day.

Make sure you put them in a bag to keep them dry, tie any pairs of shoes together and place the bag on top of the bin.

Love Your Clothes

Love Your Clothes was launched in 2014 to address the landfill issue and to help inspire and influence people to make small conscious changes to reduce the impact of clothes on the environment.

It aims to improve the sustainability of clothing, reduce the environmental impact of clothing and increase the active life of the clothes we wear.

Love Your Clothes provides help and advice on:

  • buying clothes
  • care and repair
  • refashion and upcycle
  • unwanted clothes

Get involved and find out how you can Love Your Clothes.

TRAID

We have partnered with the West London Waste Authority and TRAID to provide free home collections of unwanted textiles as well as small electrical waste at a time convenient for you.

Make sure you have at least one bag of textiles for collection, and any electrical waste can be collected at the same time. Donations will be hand sorted at their warehouse for suitable clothing to be sold back to the public in one of TRAID's 12 charity shops.
