Community benefits team

The community benefits team provides advice and assistance on welfare benefits primarily for vulnerable client groups such as people with mental health needs, physical disabilities and older people.

The team provides help with:

  • identifying appropriate benefits and services
  • completing and submitting claims
  • appeals and tribunal processes

Benefits advice line

The benefits advice line provides general advice about benefit entitlements, and is open to all residents of the borough.

Community benefits team advice line, tel: (020) 8825 8555
Opening hours: Mon-Fri 10am-4pm (excluding Bank Holidays)

The advice provided by the team is in accordance with legislation, statutory requirements and the council's policies and procedures.

Referrals

To access our service a referral must be made by a professional in the health and/or social care sector.

While many referrals and made through the council's own care and support teams, they can also be made by other voluntary or community based groups. These are called external referrals and can be made through community mental health resource centres, adult day centres, and the health service.

To make a referral the professional will need to complete the referral form and read the accompanying guidance notes.

Once the form is filled in, return to:

Ealing Community Benefits Team, 5th Floor NW/14, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road, Ealing, London, W5 2HL.

If we are unable to help, ie where there is a requirement for a service that we do not provide, we will identify and refer the client to an appropriate service.

We also provide monthly advice surgeries in the borough's three mental health resource centres.  To make an appointment contact the appropriate resource centre direct:
