Delays or problems with sales

Most sales go smoothly, but sometimes there are delays.

If you think we are delaying the sale, you can serve an initial notice of delay (Form RTB6) on us. You must give us at least 1 month to take the next step. Once we do, or if there is no action needed, we will send you a counter notice.

If we do not send a counter notice in time, you can send an operative notice of delay (Form RTB8).

The rent you pay during the delay will be deducted from the price of your home. If there are further delays, you can repeat this process.

You can get these forms from your solicitor, a Citizens Advice Bureau, or contact home ownership services.
