Delays or problems with sales

Most sales go through smoothly but sometimes delays occur. If you believe we are delaying the sale you are able to serve an initial notice of delay (Form RTB6) on us. You must give us at least one month to take the next step in the sale process. Once we have done this, or if there is no action for us to take to speed up the sale, we will send you a counter notice.

If we do not send you a counter notice in the time allowed, you can send us an operative notice of delay (Form RTB8). The rent you pay while the delay goes on will then be taken off the price you have to pay for your home. If we delay the sale again, you can repeat this procedure. You can obtain these delay forms from your solicitor, at a Citizens Advice Bureau, or contact home ownership services.
