Complaints

What if I'm still not satisfied

The Ombudsman expects you to have given us a chance to deal with your complaint, before you contact them.

If you are still unhappy after going through all stages of the council’s complaints process, you can ask the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman or the Housing Ombudsman to consider your complaint.

The council’s corporate complaints policy is in line with the Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code  which sets out advice and guidance for councils on how to handle complaints. You can find more information about this on the Ombudsman’s website

The Complaint Handling Code - Housing Ombudsman Service

The Ombudsman investigates complaints in a fair and independent way - it does not take sides. It is a free service.

The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman investigates complaints about councils and all adult social care providers.

The Housing Ombudsman investigates complaints relating to tenant and leaseholder matters or landlord functions.
