Ealing has a range of indoor sports facilities including swimming pools, gyms and dance studios. It also has many outdoor sports grounds, providing sports facilities for people who wish to play winter and summer team sports, as well as a vast number of parks and open spaces, many of which have free to use outdoor gym equipment or distance marker routes for people to use.
The Active Ealing sports development team manage and deliver a wide range of sport and physical activity projects, with a specific focus on encouraging more young people, older adults and people with disabilities to become and stay more active. The team works in partnership with community sports clubs based in Ealing and national governing bodies of sport.
Current projects include Sportivate a national programme aimed at encouraging more young people aged between 11-25 to play sport and join sports clubs. On Your Marks is a three year project aimed at encouraging people with a range of additional needs to be more active and try out different sports. Lastly the Staying Active programme for older adults includes over 30 weekly sport and activity sessions across the borough.
