How RISE service locations are chosen
Under its contract with Ealing Council, Change Grow Live is responsible for finding suitable buildings for RISE services.
Any proposed site is agreed with the council's public health team.
Location decisions are based on:
- local need for drug and alcohol treatment
- how easy the site is to reach
- whether suitable buildings are available
- clinical and Care Quality Commission requirements
- national good practice guidance
National guidance recommends that treatment services are offered from accessible locations that do not make people feel judged or labelled.
Buildings close to town centres and public transport are often preferred because they are easier to reach and can help reduce the stigma linked to drug and alcohol treatment.
Decisions about service locations are based on:
- local need
- accessibility
- the availability of suitable premises
- the safe delivery of services
The council and RISE also work with local partners and organisations when planning significant service changes.
