Parking suspensions

Suspension of parking bays

Suspensions allow you to reserve specific parking bays within a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) or a pay and display bay for removals or works. They are available, for example, to residents within a CPZ, builders or contractors, removal workers, civil works/utility companies and film companies.

The suspension will be active in resident parking places 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The charge to suspend:

  • a permit holder bay, within a CPZ, is £30 per bay per day
  • a pay and display bay is also £30 per bay per day

How to apply

You can apply for your parking suspension online.

Apply for a parking suspension

There are two options for parking suspensions:

  • Standard service: Applications must be submitted either online, by email (must be submitted during business hours, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm) or received in the post at least seven working days before the suspension is due to take place.
  • Premium service: Can be applied for online and submitted up to three working days before the suspension is due to take place. The premium service costs a further £10 in addition to the charge to suspend a bay.

Suspension signs are put up at the required location before the suspension is due to take place. Any vehicle parked in the suspended bays once the suspension has started, will be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

Please note: No suspension will take place until full payment has been received.
