Traffic Management Order objections – January 2025, Northolt and Greenford Micromobility Parking Bays Batch 3

Harewood Avenue

Date received: 28 November 2024 and 16 December 2024

Issue raised through Traffic Management Order

  • will remove easy access to resident parking
  • noise and disturbance particularly at night will cause disturbance
  • risk of unsociable behaviour and vandalism and burglary
  • risk of dumping of vehicles on pavement and exterior of house
  • risk of dumping of vehicles on the public highway
  • safety risk as bay is close to junction

Response from council

  • bay will only take up one resident parking bay
  • bay is placed adjacent to flank wall, so no direct line of sight from property to bay
  • the bay is unlikely to cause increased noise or antisocial behaviour
  • the bay location is clearly marked for vehicles to park inside. Poorly parked vehicles will be monitored and removed by the operators
  • no recorded collision in last 5 years at this junction on TFL’s COLLSTATS (most recent data May 2024). Bay is same size as a parking bay for other motor vehicles and is sufficiently far away from junction to reduce risk
  • proceed to installation

  • noise pollution and antisocial behaviour
  • these issues will affect disabled residents of the road
  • no need for the service in this local area
  • already a lack of parking provision
  • alternative location by parade of shops would be more suitable

Response from council

  • bay will only take up one resident parking bay
  • the bay location is clearly marked for vehicles to park inside and poorly parked vehicles will be monitored and removed by the operators
  • given availability of alternative location by parade of shops along Greenford Road the Council will draw up plans to use this bay as an alternative bay to the one on Horsenden Avenue and will include this in a future TMO as part of statutory consultation
