You can recycle small electrical items at locations across the borough.
Do not place electrical items in your household rubbish or recycling bins.
Batteries and electrical items can cause fires if they are crushed in rubbish or recycling lorries. Do not put them in your household rubbish or recycling bin. Fires can put collection crews, residents, vehicles and recycling facilities at risk.
Recycle your small electrical items
Recycling electrical items separately helps keep waste and recycling services safe and protects the environment. Small electrical items contain precious metals and other materials that can be used to make new products.
If an item has a plug, battery or cable, it should be recycled as a small electrical item rather than placed in your bin. Before recycling, remember to remove any batteries if possible and recycle them separately at a designated battery collection point.
You can recycle:
- small kitchen appliances
- laptops, tablets and PCs
- mobile and landline phones
- radios and audio equipment
- games consoles
- clocks
- small electric powered DIY tools
- hairdryers
- kettles
- electronic toys
