Composting

If you do not have the space, or do not wish to compost at home you can:

• sign up to the garden waste collection service which operates throughout the year
• take your garden waste to a reuse and recycling centre

Residents who do not have a garden, or enough space, could try using a wormery on a balcony or in the kitchen. Wormeries are easy to use, hygienic and once the unit is sealed it does not smell. Worms can live on unwanted food, paper and cardboard reducing household waste and producing valuable natural fertiliser for plants.
