Introduction
The Highlane estate is located in Hanwell, Ealing. Highlane has 264 homes across nine blocks which all date back to the 1970s.
Due to deteriorating stock condition, poor use of open space and a lack of community facilities the council’s 2008 estates review designated Highlane as a medium intervention estate, where consideration was then given to different forms of improvement from refurbishment to complete redevelopment.
The council’s cabinet in July of 2015 formally approved officers to start progressing proposals for regeneration of the estate.
Following extensive consultation and successful ballot with residents planning permission for the redevelopment of Highlane was granted in 2021.
The planning permission envisages regeneration works to centre around the replacement of the 264 existing homes with 503 new, energy efficient homes, across 3 phases.
