Support in the school holidays
The Crisis and Resilience Fund provides the funding for vouchers issued to households during the school holidays.
The following groups will receive vouchers:
Families
Families with children in the borough’s schools, eligible for benefits-related free school meals, will get supermarket vouchers as outlined below. You do not need to apply.
If you live in Ealing borough and have a child that attends a school outside Ealing borough but are not eligible to receive a voucher from the borough your child goes to school in, and qualify for free school meals due to low income, you can apply for a free school meals voucher
Vouchers will be provided:
- May 2026 £15 per child
- July 2026 £90 per child
Families with children under the age of 5, who get housing benefit or council tax support will get supermarket vouchers. You do not need to apply.
Vouchers will be provided:
- May 2026 - £15 per household
- July 2026 - £90 per household
Care leavers
Care leavers will get supermarket vouchers:
- May 2026 - £75 per care leaver
- July 2026 - £75 per care leaver
All supermarket vouchers are provided by our partners Blackhawk. Families will get an email or letter from Blackhawk with a 16-digit, personalised code and instructions to redeem the vouchers via the Blackhawk website (this is a safe website and Blackhawk are a trusted partner of Ealing Council).
From September 2026 all families claiming Universal Credit will become eligible to receive free school meals so more children will receive term-time support. This will not happen automatically and families must apply for free school meals
