Crisis and Resilience Fund

Resilience services

The Crisis and Resilience Fund will also help us improve the resilience of our residents. We want to make sure that as well as responding to the immediate crisis, we can also offer some longer-term support to help avoid similar crisis’ in the future.

To do this, the council may offer a variety of resilience support as well as, or instead of, a crisis payment. In some cases we may ask you to engage with this support as a condition of making a crisis payment.

This type of support includes:

  • benefit checks and making sure you are claiming everything you are entitled to
  • budgeting advice and skills including managing a household budget and planning for the future
  • specific energy advice - how to make your home more energy efficient and save on your bills
  • debt advice
  • help to find a job or improve your skills to secure better employment
  • help using online services
  • access to affordable credit and savings
  • community food aid co-located with advice provision
  • housing support and homelessness prevention services
