How to book a ceremony
Once you have decided to get married or form a civil partnership you should choose a venue. You must know where your ceremony will take place before you give notice.
Giving notice of marriage or civil partnership
Before you can get married or form a civil partnership you will need to give notice. The earliest date you can do this is 12 months before the ceremony. The latest you can give notice is 28 days before your ceremony.

Marriage certificate corrections
Once the marriage registration is complete it cannot be changed.
If you notice an error on your certificate, you can apply for a correction.
If approved, a note will be added under the original entry.
