COVID-19 has had a devastating effect on many of Ealing’s communities. Ealing has one of the highest furlough rates in the country, with eight of its 23 wards ranked in the 20% most deprived wards in the country. A third of the borough’s workforce earn less than the London Living Wage (LLW) and many residents are suffering from job losses at Heathrow Airport following a downturn in the aviation industry.

In these unprecedented times local businesses are facing many challenges and business owners are worried about their future, their employees and the wider community.

Ealing’s Plan for Good Jobs is the council’s commitment to outline the shorter-term actions that are required to help Ealing’s economy recover from the pandemic.

A key component of this initiative is to help the most vulnerable residents know how and where to find work, the means to retrain and develop their skills to work in industries that offer greater security.

Business owners can find out how to access help and advice to survive in a difficult economy via a vast network hosted by WestLondon.com.
