As a resident of Broadway Living, repairs to your home will either be a defect or a repair.
- Defects – as you are living in a newly constructed home, if anything does not work during the first 12 months after it was built, it may be because there was a fault in the construction. If this is the case, the company that built the homes (the developer) may be responsible. In this instance it is called a defect and the repair is referred back to the developer.
- Repairs – this includes all other faults with your home that are not the responsibility of the developer.
Defects and repairs are reported in the same way, but are dealt with differently after that. Before reporting a repair you will need to check if it is your responsibility.
