Mental health in Ealing: Public Health annual report 2024

How does mental health vary across Ealing?

Based on how residents use health services, we can build a picture of how mental health varies across the borough.

For example:

In Southall, fewer people see their GP for depression than expected. Why? Could this be due to cultural stigma?

In Northolt, Greenford, and Acton, there is high usage of community mental health services and a high number of mental health related hospital admissions. Why? Are there more risk factors like structural inequalities here?

As well as geography, mental health varies by characteristics like gender, age, ethnicity, disability, and sexuality, though we don't have data for all of these groups.
