Notice of intended disposal
The existing Acton Library site will become surplus to the council’s requirements when new Acton library facilities are opened as part of the current redevelopment of Old Acton Town Hall in April 2014. The council has therefore decided* to dispose of the existing library building and is following the process set out in the Localism Act 2011 given its status an asset of community value. This decision to dispose of the building has no impact on the provision of library services in the Acton area.
*The council’s Cabinet resolved in November 2010 to dispose of the existing Acton Library building on completion and occupancy of the new library facilities and authorised the marketing of the property in April 2013.
