We have introduced many Gated PSPOs in the borough.
These allow public footpaths to become restricted areas because of anti-social behaviour and crime that negatively affect the residents and visitors. A Gated PSPO can include rules and restrictions, but since the footpath is gated and not accessible to the public, these are not always needed.
Accessing the restricted area is a breach of the Order and can result in the individual being issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) of £100. If this is unpaid, the council may take legal action against the person. This can result in a level three fine of up to £1,000 on conviction.
