Moving home

Moving to another rented property

We hope that you will be happy in your home for many years to come. However, we recognise that circumstances change and at some point you may wish to move.

One option for moving is through a mutual exchange. This is where you swap your property for another social housing home.  Very often this can result in a quicker move than through the usual channels.

Currently Broadway Living do not operate a transfer list. You will need to register with Ealing Council and bid for homes through their lettings service Locata, in the same way that you did when you first moved in.

Homes are allocated based on need and we use the banding system adopted by Ealing Council to assess this. When you register with Locata, it will tell you which band you are in.

Ealing Council also have information about how Locata works in their borough.

We have criteria for working out the number of bedrooms you are entitled to.  They are as follows:

Household

Number of bedrooms

Single person

Bedsit, studio or one bedroom

Couple

One bedroom

Single parent or couple plus one child

Two bedrooms

Single parent or couple plus two children of any sex both under 10 years

Two bedrooms

Single parent or couple plus two children of same gender aged 10-18 years

Two bedrooms

Single parent or couple plus two children of different gender one of whom is over 10 years

Three bedrooms

If you qualify for a larger property based on these criteria then you can register for a move.

You can also register if you have other reasons for needing to move.

You will need to speak to your lettings and property manager who will also be able to advise you on other rental options. You can see more information in our lettings policy. If you think you may be able to buy part of a property, you might also want to consider shared ownership.
