It's still very important for residents to follow public health guidance and stick to the roadmap out of lockdown step-by-step. As we move out of lockdown, it will be more and more important for all everyone to get a test even if they do not have symptoms and to get a test regularly so that once you test positive, you isolate at home.
We know that people from black and Asian communities have been affected in greater numbers by coronavirus, with more serious illness and death. We particularly encourage residents from these groups to get tested to make sure that we keep all communities safe.
We understand that some people may have concerns about needing to isolate in the event of a positive test. Extra financial and practical support may be available for some residents. Ealing Council staff are supporting the NHS with contact tracing through telephone calls, door knocking and letters, to enable people to self-isolate when they have been in contact with an infected person. Staff will clearly identify themselves, will not ask for any money and be able to provide the last four digits of an individual’s NHS number for confirmation.
