Coronavirus (COVID-19)

On 4 January, the Prime Minister announced an immediate national lockdown to control the spread of coronavirus as rates rapidly go up across London and the country.

By law you must now stay at home, and only leave your home for specific reasons, such as:

  • to shop for essential items and medicine
  • to exercise once a day in your local area with your household (or support bubble) or one other person
  • to travel to work, but only if you can’t work from home
  • to provide care or help to vulnerable people
  • to seek medical help, get tested or get vaccinated
  • to escape domestic abuse

Free COVID-19 test for residents without symptoms

Residents can now get a free coronavirus test in Ealing, even if they do not have COVID-19 symptoms.

One in three people with COVID-19 do not display any symptoms. This shows the importance of a test to make sure that you are not carrying the virus that could be passed on to other people including people you live with.

Please note that we are currently unable to test under 16’s, however they are permitted to attend with residents who have booked a test.

Coronavirus vaccines

The coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines developed by Pfizer/BioNTech and Oxford/AstraZeneca have both been approved for use in the UK. A third COVID-19 vaccine developed by Moderna has also been approved in the UK for spring rollout. The NHS is currently offering the COVID-19 vaccine to people most at risk from coronavirus. Over the coming weeks and months you will be invited to a vaccination appointment, there is no need to contact your GP. Find out more about vaccines
