If someone leaves their home to get care somewhere else, like at a family member’s house - they may not have to pay council tax for their empty home.
Before you start
You can apply if:

Apply for a different exemption if the property is empty because the person stays in a hospital, nursing home or residential care home.
You will need
- Council tax account number of the property left empty
- Property address
- Any evidence to show reason care is needed
