Boroughwide public spaces protection orders

In September 2019 Ealing Council’s safer communities team introduced a boroughwide Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) to create a healthier and safer borough for all residents, visitors and businesses.

The PSPO includes parks, town centres and the council's housing estates.

The Order introduces requirements and prohibitions that allow the council to target a range of anti-social behaviour across different spaces, which residents and visitors of the borough have told us were causing a detrimental impact on them. Data was also analysed from across the Safer Ealing Partnership and over 1,400 residents took part in the formal consultation.

The council and its partners continue to take an approach to respond to anti-social behaviour through education, engagement and enforcement.  Police enforce the PSPO through dispersals, fixed penalty notices and prosecutions.
