Electric vehicles in Ealing Council's new transport strategy

The council’s transport strategy gives the green light for the introduction of more electric vehicle charging points across the borough, to support electric cars and those residents/businesses thinking of switching to this low emission mode of transport. The council will be introducing different types of charging points, both fast charging devices (close to local amenities) and standard charging devices (better suited to recharging a vehicle overnight in more residential areas).

We are planning to roll out up to 50 electric vehicle charging points across the borough a year to support a switch to these types of vehicles. Over 40 electric vehicle charging points are already in place within Ealing. Locations of charging points can be found at Zap Map.

We are also encouraging car club providers to adopt the use of electric vehicles wherever possible and the council's own fleet of vehicles is being reviewed to find out if some, or all, vehicles can be electric when their existing lease expires.
