Traffic calming measures help lower traffic speeds and volumes and contribute to a safer residential environment in the borough.
The transport team are responsible for traffic management, traffic calming and road safety issues within the borough.
If you believe that there is a traffic related issue in your area, please contact us. The first step is an initial screening to understand the issue on the named road, if needed a traffic survey will be undertaken or available traffic data will be assessed.
You will need to provide the following information:
- exact location
- a description of the problem
- your name and contact details so one of our transport planners can contact you to discuss
Requests are prioritised on the basis of recorded injury accidents, traffic speeds, and traffic volume.
The number of roads that can have measures implemented is determined by funding and the street's priority rating.
Typical traffic-calming measures include: road humps, directional signage, speed cushions, road narrowing and mini-roundabouts.
