Traffic surveys are undertaken in the spring and autumn each year, and are based on priorities including:
- number of collisions
- feedback from residents and councillors
- requirements for data collection to support potential schemes
Results from traffic surveys are used to inform interventions where necessary.
Automatic Traffic Counts, which are tubes placed across the carriageway, are usually used to collect data.
These capture the volume of vehicles passing over a specific point on the carriageway over a given period of time. They also capture speed and type of vehicle.
Data sheets are provided by the traffic survey company which are available upon request.
Email transportplanningservice@ealing.gov.uk stating which specific road you would like to receive data for.
