Improving streets around schools
We are working on a project to make the area outside schools safer and nicer for everyone. The project aims to:
- help children feel safer on their way to and from school
- increase walking, cycling and other active travel
- improve air quality at busy times, without stopping drivers from getting to where they need to go
We are testing this project at Dormers Wells Primary School in Southall and West Acton Primary School in Acton.
How we will design the project
To plan the changes, we need to understand what happens outside the school gates at the start and end of the day.
We are asking residents, parents and carers, school staff and children to tell us what they think about the local area. Their feedback will help us:
- find out what problems people face
- come up with ideas to make the area better
- choose changes that could make a difference and improve the area
