Culmington Road
Making Culmington Road safer and more pleasant for residents
Ealing Council is exploring ways to improve neighbourhoods across the borough by repurposing public spaces to:
- make people’s streets more attractive and enjoyable
- help make walking, cycling and wheeling safer and easier
- take positive action against climate change
Proposed improvements to Culmington Road
- better connection between Lammas Park and Walpole Park
- enhance biodiversity, making the road greener and more pleasant with plants and a community garden
- better pedestrian crossings
- improving the junction at Churchfield Road to make it safer for pedestrians
- build in-carriageway Electric Vehicle charging points
- reviewing the access of heavy and large vehicles
The council is committed to being open, transparent, and inclusive in how we work with local people, to make improvements in the right way to where they live, following the principals set out in the Travel in Ealing Charter
Traffic levels
Data was collected in July 2024 to understand the level of traffic. Traffic data was collected at the Culmington Road junction with Churchfield Road, at the Culmington Road junction with Uxbridge Road and at the junction between Lammas Park Gardens and Elers Road. Also, pedestrian counts took place between the two parks to assess movement patterns. Email begreen@ealing.gov.uk if you would like to get a copy of the data sheets.

Results and next steps
Engagement results
Ealing Council worked with ECF, who are engagement specialists, to support at the in-person events and produce a report with the results of the engagement and surveys
From the feedback we understand that some residents would like to see a width restriction on Culmington Road.
The council will share the final plans with residents, who will then have another opportunity to share their views. The council would not be able to deliver this as part of the this scheme as this needs more baseline data to understand HGV traffic flow.
Any updates, plans and meeting dates will be updated on this page.
