Fly-posting is the display of posters, stickers and signs without the owner’s permission. These usually advertise or promote events.
Travelling funfairs and circuses do have our permission to advertise. These posters are placed on park railings and lamp posts and are removed shortly after the event has finished.
Fly-posting is a criminal offence. Some racist, sexist or homophobic fly-posting is classed as a hate crime and should be reported to the police, as well as the council.
