Skip licences

Introduction

If you want to place a skip on any part of the public road, you must apply to us for skip licence.

You do not need one if you put a skip on private land.

You cannot put a skip on the pavement.

Who can apply

To ensure compliance with licence conditions, we only accept applications from authorised skip companies. Building contractors and residents cannot apply.

They need to apply for a licence before placing a skip on a public road.

Cost

A skip licence costs £50, which is valid for 14 days from the issue date.

If a skip company needs a licence for longer than 14 days, they must apply for a new one.

Report a problem with a skip

Skips that do not have a licence or break the regulations, should be reported.
