Cultural infrastructure plan

The cultural infrastructure plan builds on Ealing Council’s cultural manifesto and sets out a roadmap for the borough to protect existing spaces for culture, support the development new venues and facilities, and encourage growth and jobs in the cultural sector and investing in a thriving creative community.

A series of engagement workshops with Ealing’s creative practitioners, film and music sector specialists have set the direction for the plan. It reviews spaces, buildings and facilities for cultural activities and identifies opportunities for the council to support more ‘production’ spaces, for the making of creative and cultural work, and ‘consumption’ spaces for showcasing cultural activities and creative participation among communities across the borough. These can range from rehearsal spaces and prop-making studios to theatres, galleries and record stores.

It supports grassroots cultural activities across all 7 towns in the borough and makes sure they are accessible for local people.

The plan identifies infrastructure projects to be delivered in partnership with local organisations and stakeholders.
