Ealing Council travel assistance policy
The council travel assistance policy helps children and young people of school age get to school, and includes how:
- you can apply
- decisions are made
- you can appeal if you disagree with a decision
We will look at each application separately, focusing on your child's specific needs and how they match our policy. Make sure you give us all the information and documents we ask for when you apply.
Eligibility
When checking if your child can get help with travel to school, the council will ask:
- does your child attend their nearest qualifying school
- what is the walking distance from home to school
- does your child have special educational needs or disabilities, which may affect their ability to use public transport
- is your child from a low-income family
- are there other special circumstances that need to be taken into consideration
Assessing your application
The Travel Independence Hub will review applications and aim to respond within 4 weeks.
