Sherwood Close estate (also known as Dean Gardens) is located in West Ealing. The estate was built in the 1970s and consists of 209 homes in total.
The council’s 2008 estates review highlighted that Sherwood Close needs a lot of work to address the improvements needed to bring it up to the government's Decent Homes standard.
Problems identified in the review include:
- anti-social behaviour
- derelict garages
- drug dealing and crime
- too many one bedroom properties and a lack of four bedroom properties
- poorly lit internal corridors
Following a developer selection process, the council selected a preferred partnership with Clarion Homes.
