Freedom of information

The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 was passed on 30 November 2000. It gives a general right to see recorded information held by public authorities, subject to a number of exemptions.

Ealing Council has two main responsibilities under the Act:

  • To have a publication scheme in place.
  • To respond to individual requests for information.
