Making changes to a birth record
To make changes to a birth record, you need to re-register a birth if you want to do either of the following:
- add the father's name
- amend the registration to reflect that the parents have married since the birth
For any other changes, you will need to contact the Ealing register office and book an appointment
Add the father's name
If you are unmarried and would like the natural father's details added to the birth record, you need to re-register the birth so that a new birth record replaces the original one.

Both parents need to attend the register office.
If this isn't possible, the absent parent needs to complete the statutory declaration of acknowledgement of parentage form.

If you have married since the birth
If you have got married since the birth, you need to re-register the birth so that a new birth record can be created showing the child as a child of the parents' marriage.
