Consumer advice
The council offers advice on trading standards legislation, carries out programmed inspections and investigates consumer complaints that may reveal criminal offences under fair trading laws.
The Trading Standards Institute can also give advice about consumer rights, including selling methods, fair trading, pricing, food, safety, and weights and measures. It also advises on animal health and welfare.
