Service charges

The yearly service charge you must pay as a leaseholder covers the costs of providing services to your building and property.

Services you pay for

The services you get depend on where you live and may include:

  • maintenance and cleaning in communal areas
  • lighting in communal areas
  • repairs and improvements
  • heating and hot water
  • lift maintenance
  • front desk (concierge) service
  • communal garden and ground maintenance
  • management fees
  • building insurance

If you rent from the council, these costs are included in your rent. Leaseholders do not pay extra to cover tenants' costs.
