Getting home-owner documents

You can ask the council for documents about your home. Some will be free, and others you must pay for. 

Here are some examples of what you can ask for:

Bills and statements

  • major works bills and statements
  • service charge documents (statements, estimates and final bills)
  • ground rent notices
  • first invoice or request for a new invoice

Legal documents

  • Right to Buy paperwork
  • major works notices and consultations
  • Section 20 notices
  • Section 20B notices (for delayed billing)
  • lease agreement
  • insurance documents

Plans and maps

  • copy of plan A (estate plan)
  • copy of plan B (block plan)
