Grounds maintenance

Grass cutting

Grass cutting is dependent on the weather and ground conditions. Each visit to site can vary between two to three weeks. For health and safety reasons grass cutting may not be carried out if the ground is waterlogged.

  • General grass areas are cut to maintain growth at a general height of 90mm throughout the growing season and cuttings (grass clippings) are left on grass areas
  • We are introducing more grass meadows and wild flower areas in the borough. There are different types of management for these areas. Some will be cut once a year and collected, while others will stay uncut for up to three years.
