Environmental enforcement

Pay your fixed penalty notice

A ticket issued for environmental offences, like littering, fly-tipping, or leaving bins on the street, is known as a fixed penalty notice (FPN), which are effectively ‘fines’. You can get the notice on the spot or by post.

You usually have to pay the penalty within 14 days. You might be prosecuted and have to pay more if you do not pay your penalty on time.

There is no formal appeal process for an FPN. We may take you to court if you do not pay.

If you think your FPN has been wrongly issued, please contact the issuing officer using the contact information on your notice. Alternatively, you can email streetservicescomplaints@ealing.gov.uk

Before you start

Do not use these forms to pay a parking penalty charge notice (PCN).

Please follow the instructions on your notice to find out how to pay.

FPNs must be paid in full. We do not accept part payments or payment plans.

You will need

  • Your FPN number
  • The post code of the address where the FPN was posted. This will be included in your penalty notice. (For postal FPNs only)
  •  A credit or debit card to make the payment.

What happens next

Once the FPN has been paid, the case will be closed. If you commit the same offence again, you may face court action.
