Term and holiday dates

Five teacher training days and three occasional days are set each academic year. These are in addition to the school holidays. For further information contact the school directly.

Autumn term 2012

• Monday 3 September 2012 to Friday 21 December 2012 (75 days)
• Half Term: Monday 29 October 2012 to Friday 2 November 2012
• Christmas Holiday: Monday 24 December 2012 to Friday 4 January 2013

Spring term 2013

• Monday 7 January 2013 to Thursday 28 March 2013 (54 days)
• Half Term: Monday 18 February 2013 to Friday 22 February 2013
• Easter Holiday: Friday 29 March 2013 to Friday 12 April 2013

Summer term 2013

• Monday 15 April 2013 to Friday 26 July 2013
• May Day: Monday 6 May 2013
• Half Term: Monday 27 May 2013 to Friday 31 May 2013

Training days
The above schedule sets out 198 days in total, providing a framework for schools from which five days should be selected as training days for teachers, set by headteachers in consultation with their staff.

Occasional days
The schedule also allows for the 3 occasional day holidays for pupils and staff to be set in consultation with each school’s governing body. In considering the dates of these 3 days, governing bodies should take account of the need to observe religious festivals other than Christmas and Easter. These should also be taken from within the 198 days specified in the schedule. Should the occasional days not be required for religious festivals it is recommended that they be added to the end of the Summer Term 2013. 

Please note that the total number of working days for teachers is 195 and for pupils is 190

• 25/26 December 2012 (Christmas day holiday)
• 1 January 2013 (new years day holiday)
• 29 March 2013 (Good Friday)
• 1 April 2013 (Easter Monday)
