Fill in this form if you are a not-for-profit landlord giving support services to your tenants and think your property should be treated as ‘supported exempt accommodation’ or ‘specified accommodation’ for housing benefit reasons.
Before you start
Only the landlord or property owner can apply for supported exempt or other specified accommodation status.
You must be able to show:
- the business is not-for-profit
- organisational status
- evidence of the care, support and supervision given to residents

It is the individual tenants that the ‘supported’ status applies to. If someone does not need, get, or take up the support given then the ‘supported’ status can be removed from that person. This means they will not qualify for housing benefit and will have to claim universal credit. Read more about universal credit on GOV.UK
